I have lots of silver jewelry and over the years, boy, does it lose its luster. A jeweler designer recommended Tarn-X to me and I am happy to say IT WORKS!!! I had the perfect container because a few years ago I bought "Silver Dip Cleaner," a jar with a dip basket and 8 fl ounces of whatever was in there. Pour some Tarn-X in the jar, put a few pieces on the basket, close the container tightly, and shake and swish it, use an old toothbrush dipped in the stuff to get into crevices, rinse thoroughly with water, and VOILA, it's like new. She told me not to use it on any pearls, which is a pain because a few necklaces have a pearl so now I have to deal with how to get those pieces all nice and shiny again. I've been wearing stuff I haven't touched in years because it was dark and dull. Now it's shiny and bright.

Whatever fluid is left in the container after a cleaning session stays there. I pour fresh fluid in the next time I need to clean some stuff.

This stuff works! I poured a tiny bit of this product into a plastic container and dipped my gold or silver in it one piece at a time. I rinsed each piece in cool water IMMEDIATELY after dipping it. I would not recommend leaving your jewelry in this for more than 1 or 2 seconds because it works on contact and it is strong. If the item is heavily tarnished try repeating the process a few times. I used it on my gold, silver, and even gold and rhodium plated silver items with non-porous stones. In the past I have used jewelry dips, polishing cloths etc. without much success. After using this product my jewelry looked like new! I have also noticed the items did not tarnish right away like they often do after cleaning. I bought this to clean my jewelry before moving, and it was pretty easy to use. It worked on everything and got the tarnish off like I needed. It was a little time consuming and smells horrible, but I will definitely use it again when needed.
