ASA's electronic flight computer takes advantage of advances in display and microcomputer technologies for better performance and price. A menu of 34 functions gives users access to 40 aviation calculations, including weight and balance, with these features:

-Ergonomic Design
--The CX-2 features a simple keyboard and slim design. The hard-plastic carrying case protects the computer inside the flight bag, and fits on the back of the unit for storage while the computer is in use.
-Interactive Functions
--Functions can be used together in "chain" calculations, where the answer to a preceding problem is automatically entered into subsequent problems. Standard mathematical calculations and conversions can be performed within each aviation function. The CX-2 uses four AAA batteries (included).

The CX2 from ASA (Don't let the manufacturer name mistake you) is the perfect tool and a MUST have for any pilot. I got this when I was getting my PPL and it was handy for taking my final exam as well as my practice. It saved me lots of hours when doing Cross Country and having to do those long flight plans.
No matter what license you hold, this is a must have.

Great in terms of the depth of what it will do, and quickly. I think it gets the edge over it's competition which is only slightly less money. In my opinion this is easier for me to use regardless of its greater number of functions. I like the feature that saves the result of a previous calculation (that may be needed for the next calculation). It really speeds up grouped calculations that need an earlier result as part of a new calculation. This saves having to write down the previous answer when scratch paper isn't handy.
But, as I and others point out, a self limited timed led powered backlight would certainly be an improvement.
